Radcliffe, a community of 600 is located in Hardin County, about 60 miles North of Des Moines, 30 miles North of Ames, and 15 miles north of Story City. There are several beautiful historic structures in Radcliffe, including businesses on main street, churches, and several homes. A growing and progressive community, Radcliffe boasts many recently constructed homes, as well as new businesses, a new fire station, post office, and library. Agriculture provides a great deal of the economic base for the community, but its location makes it ideal for those residents that commute to neighboring towns for employment.

There is an impressive variety of homes to purchase or rent in Radcliffe, or you might choose to build and take advantage of our outstanding tax abatement opportunities. All eligible property is qualified for a 100% exemption from taxation on the actual value added by the improvements for a year period.

Radcliffe has a proud tradition of quality education. They maintain an elementary and middle school, with the high school in nearby Hubbard. Our school offers each child a caring and positive learning environment. Creativity, technology, and partnership with parents and the community are tools used to enhance the curriculum. In addition to the core classes, we also offer vocal and instrumental music, visual arts, computer science, Spanish, resource/special needs, and talented and gifted programs. There are also a number of extra curricular activities including: football, volleyball, basketball, track, softball, baseball, cross country, cheerleading, drama, speech, student council, madrigal, and concert/jazz band.

There are many programs available for our youth, pre-school through high school: Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, 4-H Clubs, Girl Scouts, Helping Hands, Little League, Story Hour, Summer Softball, Summer Library Programs, Swimming Bus, and T-Ball.

In addition to the five churches in Radcliffe, there are adult and youth programs available within each church. Faith Evangelical, Our Saviors Lutheran, St. John’s United Methodist, Salem Lutheran, and Zion Lutheran

Radcliffe has the businesses necessary to meet your everyday needs and a few specialty items. Radcliffe also offers all the basic emergency services. They have a well equipped fire department, ambulance, and rescue team.

You will discover an exceptional variety of leisure activities in the Radcliffe area. In addition to our beautiful city park, golf course and playground, there are also the Ruempers and Eller Nature Trails, the historic museum, and the annual Radcliffe Days Celebration.
